Kelowna Engagement Photographer | Gordie + Alexis | Kaloya Regional Park Oyama, BC
This is Gordie + Alexis. They are our friends and Gordie has been a part of our church since it’s beginning. Gordie contacted us about shooting engagement photos for them before he even asked her to marry him! Of course, we were really excited!
We started at Gordie’s parent’s home in Oyama. They’ve lived on a pasture for 15 years. One horse actually made it into a photo. Watch for that one! After shooting in the tall grasses, thistles, and huge willow tree, we headed to Kaloya Regional Park to shoot near the lily pond, on wooded trails, and in Kalamalka Lake! It was an awesome evening and we can’t wait for these two to get married!

Kelowna Wedding Photographers | Carling + Jeff Engagement | Barnett Photography Knox Mountain
We like Carling + Jeff. Sporty. Outdoorsy. A little rough and tumbley. They’re at once friendly while being sarcastic and funny at the same time. Plus, they have a big dog.
We took them to the top of Knox Mountain in Kelowna to be truly in the outdoors. Hiking around to different scenic spots, we chased “the good light” while enjoying the gorgeous views of the Okanagan from above. Carling + Jeff were totally themselves preferring to dress casual and Jeff even showcased his riding gear while Sahara the Dog tromped around being cute. We even saw a few deer!
We can’t wait for their September wedding at The Harvest!

Kelowna Wedding Photographer | Laura + Ryan Engagement | Okanagan Lake Photography
We never get tired of shooting Bertram Creek Park here in Kelowna, BC. Mountains, trees, the Okanagan Lake, and beautiful views all around! We’ve shot here many times, but each time it looks little different! And then, when you get to photograph a lovely couple like these two, it’s a win! Laura + Ryan are super fun. All smiles, super in-love, and getting married next year here in Kelowna at the wonderful Manteo Resort! We can’t wait!
Kelowna Wedding Photographer | Tessa + Robbie | Downtown Okanagan Engagement
Tessa + Robbie came to us from Vancouver, BC to enjoy a sunny classic downtown Kelowna Engagement session! These guys were so much fun! Always crackin’ jokes and making us laugh! They have such a wonderful chemistry with each other and it shows! We can’t wait for their Summer 2015 Wedding here in the Okanagan!
Kelowna Engagement Photographer | Ashley + Brady | Pulp Fiction Coffee House
Ashley + Brady are getting married in West Kelowna in August 2015 at Sanctuary Gardens. They wanted to do a cozy indoor Winter shoot at their favourite spot, Pulp Fiction Coffee House. Pulp Fiction has a great Latté and an awesome bookstore. Max (owner) was so gracious to allow us in to document a little love and book browsing with our couple.
Enjoy.

Kelowna Wedding Photographer | Katherine + Colin | Gellatly Nut Farm and Two Eagles Golf Course
Katherine + Colin’s West Kelowna wedding was a beautiful and emotional day of awesomeness. We at Barnett Photography in Kelowna are so grateful to work with such good people.
The Bride + Groom got ready at the Best Western Plus which has an impressive bridal suite in the tower. Sunlight flooded the room as Katherine’s father saw her in her dress for the first time.
The Ceremony at Gellatly Nut Farm was touching and everyone could see that these two were meant for each other. Kat + Colin requested that their loved ones put away the phones and cameras for the ceremony. It’s such a delight to see the faces of guests as the ceremony unfolds. The moments coming down the aisle are worth seeing with your own eyes.
We took pictures at the Nut Farm (cutest flower girl ever!) and then headed down the road to a field to get out in the sun and enjoy the warmth of early Fall. This wedding party was awesome! So many smiles and jokes it was hard to keep it together and work! We really had a great time with them and it shows in the portraits!
The reception was held at Two Eagles Golf Course in West Kelowna. 19 Okanagan Grill treated us to a delicious plated dinner and afterwards we snuck the newlyweds out for a quiet moment in the setting sun.
The decor was all Fall for this October Wedding with rich hues of Red, Orange, Brown, and Gold with Paper Lanterns and lights strung across the rafters. Owls were part of the fall themed decor and they were seen everywhere from the Bridesmaid’s necklaces, the Groomsmen’s boutonnieres, and cake topper, to the goody bags for the yummy Candy Bar and more.
Speeches were perfect with laughter, tears, and joy as family + friends remembered the past and toasted to the future.
Cake was cut and dancing ensued while DJ Superdave kept us rocking as he always does!

Vernon Wedding Photographers | Meagan + Garrett | Mackie House & Paddlewheel Park Photography
Meagan + Garrett’s wedding was a beautiful affair that took place in scenic Vernon, British Columbia. Meagan got ready at the Mackie Lake House overlooking Kalamalka Lake. Built 104 years ago, it’s a gorgeous location that provides charm and character. The house is filled with all the perfect vintage touches.
Garrett readied himself across the lake at a sunny beach house complete with a boat dock-turned-diving board! Watch for Garrett keeping cool before dressing up!
The ceremony was held on the back lawn of the Mackie House where dark wooden folding chairs were adorned with fans beautifully showing the program while providing relief from the late August heat. Meagan + Garrett exchanged vows and rings under a pretty birch arbor, built by Garrett’s Father and Step-Mother, while family and friends sat under the shade of the huge and wonderful trees.
Portraits were taken on the Mackie House grounds where light and shadow acted as paint on a canvas for some stunning pictures of Meagan in her beautiful dress. The big trees, barn, house, and cedar-lined drive provided the perfect surroundings for our couple and their closest friends.
The reception was enjoyed on the shore of Okanagan Lake at Paddlewheel hall where our couple dined on a delicious rustic bbq buffet. After dinner we snuck out just to grab that last bit of light before the sun said goodnight. M+ G decided that instead of a “Head Table”, they would sit at a “Sweetheart Table” where others were free to join them during dinner. Speeches were filled with much laughter and happy tears and we could tell that our couple is much loved as friends honoured them with toasts to the future. The first dance was lit beautifully by the white lights strung along the ceiling and the mood was definitely set by their friend performing Ellie Goulding’s How Long Will I love You. The gorgeous cake was cut and dancing began with Paul Cousins of Okanagan Dance Party keeping the energy up all night! Watch for Meagan’s surprise for Garrett during the Garter Toss!
All in all, Meagan + Garrett’s wedding was beautiful, touching, and perfectly framed by the stunning locations, unbelievable DIY decor, and lots of laughter!

Kelowna Engagement Photographer | Kimberly + James | Knox Mountain Photography
Kimberly + James joined us on Knox Mountain here in Kelowna for a sunset engagement photography shoot! It rained all day, but a couple hours before the session the rain stopped and the sun came out in full red/orange force; the perfect compliment to Kimberly’s fiery hair!
K + J also brought their little canine who is appropriately named Pumpkin. She was awesome. She just tromped around and made a few appearances when we needed her!
We can’t wait for these guy’s September wedding at Summerhill Pyramid Winery!
