Downtown Kelowna | Robertson Family | Barnett Photography
It’s always a treat to photograph the same family multiple times. Carly first met this little one as a newborn! Check out that post HERE. Now at 2years, she’s truly toddling around like a champ! We had such a great time doing this Downtown Kelowna Family Photography session! We had many adventures like putting our feet in the chilly Okakangan Lake, calling out to the ducks, playing in the grass, and swinging around in the beautiful sunset! It was perfect!
Kelowna Newborn Photographer | Baby Olivia | In Home Newborn Photography
Oh, Miss Olivia, how sweet you are, and what a wonderful and fun family you have and a bright future ahead of you!!
I was blessed to be able to come visit Olivia and her family at her In-Home Kelowna Newborn Photography Session. Since Mommy, Serena, is friends with dear Yuriko of Vintage Origami, we had the privilege of Yuriko styling a little bit of the session with her vintage suitcase and picnic basket.
I LOVE it when mamas have extra little personal touches waiting for me to adorn their babies with, like this super sweet pink bird swaddling blanket, and these cute teenie tiny headbands. Olivia has two older brothers, so I knew from the get-go that Olivia’s session was going to be 100% girl. These big brothers couldn’t be more proud. They are going to be FANTASTIC big brothers!
Congratulations guys!!! So excited about this splash of colour this little one is going to bring into your lives!
Kelowna Family Photographer | Ellie + Maggie | Wildflower Session
These are our daughters. Ellie who is 4 and a half. Maggie who is 3. They are our favourite people and we are their biggest fans. We always want to remember what they were like at these ages. So we took them to a mountainside and took some pictures.
Kelowna Newborn Photographer | Baby Maia | In-Home Family Photography
Baby Maia was born to the two most adventurous people I have ever met! Keya + Rich are going to create a wonderful experience for this little one, as she grows.
I was excited to do this Kelowna Newborn Photography session in Keya and Rich’s home. We had been talking about this session for months and it was so exciting to finally meet little baby Maia!
Congratulations you guys!!
Kelowna Easter Family Photography // Barnett Photography // With Vintage Origami + Crocus Floral Design
Springtime in the Okanagan is all the reason we need to put together a gorgeous styled family session! We employed the impeccable styling eye of Yuriko from Vintage Origami Weddings to help design a beautiful Springtime Easter theme. Janice from Crocus Floral Design provided the most stunning arrangements that brought the vision to life! We were able to shoot a few different families and here’s the last one! This beautiful family have allowed us to photograph them since their oldest was just a bun in the oven. Watching families grow and getting to know them better and better is the very best part about photographing both the milestones and the everyday life of our clients.
We’re thrilled to offer this type of beautifully styled family shoot on a more regular basis so watch for announcements in the future!

Best Kelowna Newborn Photographer | Baby Connor | In Home Newborn Photography
We met Chantal + Erik over 3 years ago, when they booked their wedding with us, and we began a great relationship with them. We’ve seen them through Engagement, to buying a home together, to renovating their home, to their wedding, sorrowful times, and then this MOST exciting time, bringing Connor home to grow their fresh new family.
It is always amazing being a newborn photographer, but it is EXTRA special when our Wedding Photography and Newborn Photography get to merge with the same clients. I felt extra blessed to be able to do this in-home Newborn Session.
Connor was born at Kelowna General Hospital just 8 days before this newborn photography session. He is a big little man, born at almost 10 pounds! And oh how we love big babies! I loved getting to watch Chantal cuddle her little man-cub in the window light. She definitely has a way with him, and you can tell just how much he means to her with every glance.
One of my favourite parts of this Kelowna Newborn Photography session was when Erik was helping me to lull Connor to sleep. All on his own, he picked up Peter Rabbit and read to him. Connor and Erik already have an amazing bond, and it’s always heart warming to see a daddy read to his baby.
Enjoy these photos of precious Connor! Congratulations Chantal + Erik! You guys are FANTASTIC parents!
Here are Chantal and Erik’s Engagement Session and Wedding Day!
Kelowna Newborn Photography | Baby Kai | Barnett Photography
Last week we got to meet Baby Kai. His mommy, Chelsey, laboured from Christmas Eve until Boxing day when her and Daddy, Chris, were introduced to Kai at Kelowna General Hospital.
This Kelowna Newborn Photography session was by far one of our fave newborn sessions to date. Baby Kai is as sweet as can be. He is calm and relaxed (like his parents), and he was the perfect little model. He has a full head of the softest hair you will ever touch, and is perfect from head to toe.
We loved the way Chelsey decorated the nursery. Having found a great deal on a used glider chair, Chelsey’s mom re-covered the cushions with the perfect colours for the nursery, and making the chair look extra cozy and comfortable for those long nights of sweet baby cuddles at 3am. Chelsey incorporated some little touches in the nursery that belonged to her sister, in loving memory. Everything from the plush little stuffies to the painting done by a friend, to a little tree that Chelsey’s friends made with their thumbprints, makes this such a cozy little nursery.
Enjoy this little preview of a fraction of the amazing newborn photos Carly captured of this little 10 day old boy.
KELOWNA FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER // Heather + Nathan + 3 // MATERNITY
Heather + Nathan moved to Kelowna a few years ago, making a HUGE adjustment from living in Ontario. They have 2 little boys that are such sweet little men, and they are about to have a new baby (I’m guessing girl, but Heather swears its going to be another boy! We’ll just have to wait and see)!!
We met Heather through a Kelowna Photographers meet-up, and we’ve been great friends ever since. Heather is just such a bright positive person, who is endlessly encouraging and just a lovely woman to be around. We’ve so enjoyed getting to know her and Nathan, who is one of the most well read men we’ve ever met. We could sit and talk to these two for hours, and have on several occasions.
Heather is owner of Heatherly Photography, and we’ve had the pleasure of assisting her on some of her weddings, as well as that time we hired her to be me (Carly) for the day when I was 9 months pregnant with Maggie and too huge to shoot a wedding. She recently shot our anniversary session for us, along with Rebecca Siewert Photography. We love her work, and are honoured that she allowed us to create beautiful portraits of her and her family.
Enjoy.
KELOWNA NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHER // Baby Allie
Meet little miss Allie. She is just 10 days old in these photos, and doing great. She is the first baby in the family, as well as the first grand-baby, and great-grand-baby!
Allie was born at Kelowna General Hospital, which is how Scott and Avory found us, as they admired our work in the halls. I (Carly) was so excited to meet this sweet little baby. She is such a peaceful little one. And such an expressive little dreamer.
Enjoy.
KELOWNA FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER // The Siewerts
Ahh the Siewerts. These guys hold a special place in our hearts. Cory is my (Carly’s) baby brother! If an almost 6 foot tall man can be a baby brother. It’s a really surreal thing to see your little brother become a daddy.
We had the pleasure of shooting this little family session in Cory and Rebecca’s home just as they were moving out. London (9 months old) was born in this house (Rebecca is a brave woman)! So they wanted to memorialize London’s first home with a little family session.
